I would like to say to all my friends and anyone who is kind/crazy enough to read this journal...

I love you all, you're all very special to me, and I treasure you all. Have a very special Feb 14th, whatever you do.

Bloody hell...

So, it's 9 days to Christmas, I still have cards to send (anyone know the last posting dates?) and still have about half my presents to buy...

Edit - 2nd class last posting date is today, 1st class is the 19th...

What the fuck happened this year? Last year I'm sure I was more organised than this.

I know what it is... people won't tell me what they want, some people are just DIFFICULT.

Should have been a scrooge and had a rule - you don't tell me what you want, you get nothing. Heh. That'd sort em out. *snirks*

But I am not a scrooge, I love to buy pressies for people, so, I shall brave the crowds and queues on Monday (oh heck I think the little darlings may have broken up already) and finish my shopping.

In other news... I had my car insurance cancelled and have now paid double for different insurance (£850 *mumbles*), my parents have been difficult this week and I'm wondering if you can ever really change who you are and what you do...

That bloody stocking...

So, there's not a lot going on in my life at the moment. I'm working my 28 hrs, having a lot of fun at work (including shooting rubber bands at each other and chucking pots of dip at each other... crazy? NAH...) sleeping (too much) eating (ditto) and NOT cleaning my room.

Thus, this entry is going to look a little sparse, save for the meme shamelessly stolen from [info]colacancol

Quite possibly....

the best quote...

[info]sweetsunangel

"...you can't trick yourself into believing that there's always a fairy tale ending. Because there's not. That's what I love about Moulin Rouge.

That and Ewan MacGregor's voice is like an orgasm for your ears. Mmmmm."

... Above all things, I believe in love."

I've recently remembered how much I love Moulin Rouge. It started with innocently putting all my CDs onto my iPod, listening to the soundtrack, realising I still know all the words to my favourite songs, listening to them every night, and often having them on in my car, with me warbling along, and then digging out the video (yes, VHS, so old school!) and remembering just how much of a cinematic masterpiece the film truly is.

So...

... I'm off to Southampton with Debs, Charlotte and Dianna tomorrow. What will we be doing, I hear you cry...

... well we won't be at the fucking proms, because it was cancelled on Tuesday. Something to do with the bastards that are Totally Epic not getting the paperwork to the council on time.

Oh and Ticketline don't know their arses from their elbows either - they keep telling different people different things - send us your tickets, rip up your tickets, we'll give you face value refund, we'll refund the lot... *facepalm*

But it'l be lovely to see my buddies anyway, have missed them. And we're gonna have a great time :D

I feel an addiction coming on... I LOVE Chocolate Fudge Brownie Frijj - had one every day this week *wonders how good it is for the waistline* but it's soooo tasty! Tesco have it on offer 2 for £1 at the mo, brill considering they sell them for 87p each normally. I'm so lucky Dad passes it on the way home from work every morning - means i don't need to even go and get it!

No other news, just loving the frijj.

Stansted...

... and I don't mean the airport!

Stansted Park - Last Night of The Proms - was last night, and it was such a great day!!

I picked Debs up and we went and had lunch, then checked into our Travel Inn. Got ready and headed off to Stansted Park - I only needed to do 2 U-turns, woo go me!

Anyhoo, met up with people and hung around the gate for an hour and a half, taking pictures, chatting and planning who would run to bagsy the spaces at the front... thank god I can't run!

Anyway, we got in, sat down, sorted ourselves out, found out there was PROPER candyfloss being sold so bought some (note to self - remember shoes next time as thistle patches hurt) and generally mucked about.

I used some of Steph's face and body paint to write "G4 SLUT" on Craig's chest, and then he leaned across me and smeared red face paint on my jeans - thats ANOTHER piece of clothing he's messed up - I should start billing him y'know...

So the orchestra stuff started - I can quite happily listen to classical music as long as I recognise it, these I didn't so i was a trifle bored. Then of course, came the guys - those lovely guys!! They sang 10 songs, in between classical orchestra pieces - entire list (as shamelessly stolen from Kerry) is as follows...

Ruslan and Ludmilla Overture - Glinka
Pavane - Faure
Prelud and Mazurka from Coppelia - Delibes
Air on a G String - Bach
Introduction and Act 3 of Lohengrin - Wagner

G4

Nessun Dorma
Au Fond Du Temple Saint
You'll Never Walk Alone

Overture Light Cavalry - Suppe
Slavonic Dances - Dvorak
Sleeping Beauty Suite - Tchaikovsky
Galop from William Tell Overture - Rossini
Entry of the Gladiators - Julius Fucik

*Interval*

Overture to Orpheus in Underworld - Offenbach
Montagues and capulets - Prokofiev

G4

La Donna e Mobile
My Way
BR
You're The Voice

Dambuster March - Coates
Fantasia on British Sea Songs - Wood

G4

Rule Britannia - Arne
Jerusalem - Parry
Pomp and Circumstance No 1 - Elgar

1812 Overture - Tchaikovsky
(plus fireworks)

I think the guys looked so pleased when we all chimed in with every song - arm waving in abundance during YNWA, clapping during YTV (as always) headbanging in BoRhap, and of course we all had to join in with La Donna (la donna e mobile, qual puma al vento, muta d'accento, e di pensiero) and Emma and I put in a well timed "TEAM CHRISTIE" although I really should have shouted Team THAPA... :D

It took us an hour from the show finishing to actually leaving the car park (aka overgrown field) and then travelling on a 2 mile long dirt track (my poor car is filthy)

We detoured to Bognor, just for a bit of fun, then to Emma's house, then Debs and I had to navigate back to Havant at 3:30am!!

Spent the afternoon in Havant before Debs caught her train and i began the long drive back home (with a detour to Nikki's house)

I've had such a great weekend, the only low bits were the drunk chavvy cows trying to start a fight with Cheryl and Steph (language along the lines of 'I'm gonna fucking break your jaw on this fence' and 'stupid fat c***') and the fact that the back of my neck is very painful - 13 hrs in a halterneck equals red line around back of neck, very painful

Pirates 2 is fantastic!!!

It does throw up into the air the old question of Johnny or Orlando... for some reason I never had that trouble with Pirates 1.... *confused*

"Why is the rum ALWAYS gone? *stagger* Thats why."

*pouty voice* "I want my jar of dirt"

And is it me or did Davy Jones scare the BEJEEZUS out of everyone else too?

Livejournal...

...FUCKING SUCKS.

I make a big old ranty post (which I'm sure everyone is a bit bored of now) then I go down to fill in all the 'mood' etc boxes, post and get told that I need entry text to make a post. Livejournal has only gone and gotten rid of the post... This is not the first time either.

Anyway, as i was saying before LJ went all squiffy... it's another late night, because of a late start.

I got up at 2pm today... I know, I know, I'm such a lazy fucker. And my parents are getting pretty pissed off that I spend so much time in bed, and I hate myself for it as well. It's just... it's easier to lay in bed and sleep than it is to get up and yet again try to think what to do with myself for the day, as well as the ever depressing thought that I still have no job.

Had a job interview a week last Friday, it went really badly. I can't emphasise how badly it went. Suffice to say, the agency that sent me haven't contacted me either way, so I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and guess they don't me.

Oh well... nothing really exciting to tell about, Stansted Park in 3 weeks though, although the 'rents know it as 'mates 21st birthday'... think they would hit the proverbial roof if they knew it was another concerty thing.

Sorry for yet another 'woe is me' whingy type affair.

Ramblings

  • Jun. 23rd, 2006 at 12:37 AM
severus
Had another browse through the CD of documents etc from our old PC, after it died a death. PC guy somehow got the docs and shoved them on a CD.

Only reason I did it is because [info]trialia made a post about MP3s earlier and I remembered that the CD had Gorecki on it - and since we haven't anything to download onto on this PC, I was so glad I found it on there.

Also found some X Factor clips i think - haven't checked everything out yet. Definitely saw O Holy Night, which I think has one of Mr Ansell's WTF notes...

Oooh thats a thought - I have a fic on a floppy disk in my room, missed it out when I transferred other stuff from disk to this PC via the laptop, must do that tomorrow.

Might write more slash too... have an idea in my head but no idea how it might turn out on paper... or PC.

And must tackle Everest, and call the job agency, tell them I'm only looking for Temp work until i hear back from ETS.

Forgive the ramblings, but otherwise I'll forget. I'll remember if somone replies to this, then I'll get an email, read the reply and remember the stuff I have to do.

Sometimes I wonder why I don't just write a list...

Oh yeah, and happy birthday to my little cutie Tara - 6 today! I'd post a picture of her, but OMG I can't find the 'picture' button on this rich text thing. It's been replaced by a 'add video' link. Dumb thing. Tara, for those that don't know, is my family's dog.

ETA (August 2)  Tarie!!

... it's over.

I've had the best 3 weeks of my life, reality sucks when you get back to it and get nagged all the fucking time.

'Have you looked at the paper?' "Yes" *disbelieving stare*

If anyone wants to give me back the last 3 weeks, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to everyone who made it fab.

I was going to post some happy go lucky drivel about how great the concerts were, but why bother? Everything just gets ruined in the end, people get hurt, people get annoyed, people just don't feel like making an effort anymore.

Maybe I'll speak to some of you again, maybe I won't, guess it depends if you're sick to death of me whinging on time and time again... 'oh my life is so crap, oh no one cares, no one wants to employ me' yada yada. Maybe you should all save your sympathies for the people in the world who have real worries.

Maybe I should remember I'm lucky to have my health and my friends.

Tour happiness!

Well, I'm on tour! 2 dates down, 3 to go (4 if Debs has her way... bad influence)

I am not going to say too much because a lot of people haven't been yet, but OH MY GOD!

It has been the most fantastic 2 days EVER! I'd like to state that I got birthday kisses (Mike even offered a birthday hug as well, bless him) and wouldn't let Jon go without giving him a kiss last night in Brighton. Slightly stubbly, which just made it all the more special... *squee*

Anyhoo, more when I get home on Tuesday, Cola - see you on Monday, I will hopefully check my LJ at some point in Leicester, if you want to meet up for a quick bite (of FOOD not G4 men, I know how your mind works) let me know a place and time, not sure how to get to the town from the Travelodge, might gte a bus to the station and the tram from there - is that ok?

I'm SO excited about the weekend I've got, even happy about the 2.5 hr bus journey today cos Charlotte will be at the end of it. Loff your ear flops babe!

Speak to y'all soon.
